Queens College, a public institution within the City University of New York (CUNY) system, has come under scrutiny following the on-campus appearance of a speaker known for promoting radical Islamist and anti-Semitic views. Undercover reporting has revealed that the Muslim Students Association (MSA) invited Daniel Haqiqatjou, a controversial YouTuber and commentator, to address students earlier this year. Haqiqatjou, previously cited by multiple organizations for espousing hateful tropes, used his lecture to propagate anti-Semitic “blood libels,” cast doubt on confirmed historical atrocities, and openly advocate for violent warfare—termed “jihad” within his ideological framework.
The event’s approval by the college administration, along with the attendance of the Dean of Students, has cast doubt on the institution’s commitment to safeguarding Jewish students. This comes on the heels of prior efforts, such as the convening of an anti-Semitism task force headed by Judge Jonathan Lippman, and recent federal findings indicating that Queens College failed to adequately protect its Jewish community. The resulting atmosphere, documented on camera, includes harassment, threatening graffiti, and demonstrations of open hostility toward Jewish students.
Hate Speech and Administrative Endorsement
Haqiqatjou’s lecture included claims that promoted classic anti-Semitic narratives, such as accusing Israel of mass rape and alleging that Jewish religious texts teach “racial superiority.” Organizations like the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) have previously identified Haqiqatjou as a figure spreading hate, and mainstream outlets have drawn attention to his incendiary rhetoric. Nevertheless, the Queens College MSA’s invitation was not only sanctioned by the administration but reportedly observed by Dean of Students Dwayne D. Jones Sr. The dean’s attendance is seen by critics as tacit administrative support for extremist content presented during the event.
The presence of a high-ranking college official at a gathering featuring openly hostile sentiments toward Jews stands in stark contrast to CUNY’s stated goal of combating anti-Semitism. The college’s president, Frank Wu, has publicly affirmed that anti-Semitism is unwelcome on campus. Yet, the silence following this event and the lack of condemnation from senior staff have caused dismay among those expecting decisive action.
“Racial superiority is one of the main, or a very significant teaching, within the Jewish religious texts.”

Endangering Jewish Students and Undermining Inclusivity
The impact of Haqiqatjou’s talk extends beyond rhetoric. Undercover footage indicates that Jewish students were targets of verbal harassment, and disturbing messages have appeared across campus facilities, including bathroom graffiti referencing Hitler and threats against Israelis. Given the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights determination that Queens College failed to protect Jewish students, this escalation demands more than token resolutions or task forces.
Observers note that while the administration had previously assembled high-profile initiatives to address anti-Semitism, these measures appear ineffective in preventing hostile speakers from taking the stage. The resulting environment leaves Jewish students uncertain and unsafe, raising questions about the college’s true priorities.
A Need for Accountability and Structural Reform
The revelations highlight a deep cultural and administrative rot requiring more robust interventions than have been tried so far. Without clear disavowals of such hateful rhetoric, meaningful disciplinary actions, and stronger oversight of campus organizations’ invited guests, critics argue that Queens College’s commitments to diversity and safety ring hollow. The current climate, as captured by investigative journalists, suggests that the infiltration of extremist narratives on campus could intensify if left unchecked.
Whether through heightened scrutiny of speaker approvals, better training for student groups, or direct administrative responses condemning hate speech in all forms, the public now expects urgent corrective measures. As pressure mounts for accountability, all eyes turn to how Queens College and CUNY’s broader leadership will respond to these troubling findings.
