The Mayor or Berlin had refused to release the list of the first names of the people arrested for the firework chaos, violence and attacks against law enforcement in the city on NYE. The Berlin police published data showing that 40% of the 670 people arrested aren’t German citizens. Journalists from @niusde_ have released a partial list of first names the remaining 60% with German citizenships, showing that many of them are naturalized migrants or second-generation immigrants from North Africa and the Middle East. 65% of those with German citizenship are migrants, meaning that a vast majority of those 670 people arrested in Berlin on NYE are either migrants or of migrant background. 44 Berlin police officers were wounded on NYE, several with severe injuries.
